Michael C. Farkas

Michael Farkas heads the firm's criminal defense and securities litigation practices. His diverse areas of expertise include FINRA (formerly NASD and NYSE) retail and employment-related securities arbitration, securities regulatory proceedings, complex criminal trial defense, and military law. Mike is a former in-house litigator with Citigroup Global Markets Inc.'s Smith Barney brokerage unit and a former senior homicide prosecutor in New York City. He is also a certified FINRA Arbitrator, and a currently serving Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General's ("JAG") Corps.

He is a member of the Securities Industry Association's Compliance and Legal Division; the Brooklyn Bar Association's committees on the Criminal Courts and Military Law; the Board of Directors for the Kings County Criminal Bar Association; the 4th JAG and 77th Division Officer's Associations; and the U.S. Naval Institute and Navy League of the United States.
